Abstract:
This work is an attempt to understand the experiences of indigenous Guarani children in urban contexts when they accompany their mothers to travel to city centers to sell handicrafts. It seeks to undertake an approach to working methodologies with Guarani children that values care with ethical considerations and bureaucratic processes that include respect for their ways of interacting and understanding the research process.
Therefore, the challenge of this research is to promote a discussion centered on indigenous education and training in multiple spaces, through listening to indigenous teachers and trainers in communities and carrying out a dialogue on how these teachings are taken to cities at times when Children accompany their mothers to sell handicrafts. The research is based on the city of Florianópolis and includes the conflicting relations with the public authorities, which on several occasions try to criminalize these women due to the fact that the children are not in school, among other issues. In this sense, I bring the vision of women, children and other actors on this delicate issue in order to qualify the debate and the implementation of public policies that seek to respect the way of life and experiences of the indigenous Guarani people, including adults and children.
