Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to investigate how Indigenous knowledge can be used to improve health and well-being. It also addresses methods for incorporating IKS into contemporary educational frameworks and examines the body of literature on IKS and health, as well as case studies and community-based projects.
Indigenous knowledge systems (IKS), which encompass customs and cultural beliefs from many tribes, have been crucial to the health and welfare of Indigenous populations around the world. indigenous peoples' conception of health and well-being is linked to their cultural traditions, spirituality, and the environment by fostering harmony and balance in the ecosystem and human interaction. These ideas have developed over years of interaction with Mother Nature. However, the belief in Indigenous knowledge has been endangered by Westernization and ethnocentric viewpoints. Modern education can be linked to Indigenous traditional knowledge of health and well-being, which will advance a broader understanding of health
Students get an appreciation of various healing modalities as well as an understanding of the shortcomings of Western paradigms. We can build a healthcare system that is more courteous, inclusive, and efficient by embracing IKS.
