Abstract:
The emergence of Anthropology as an academic discipline in Peru dates back to the 1940s. XX, under the influence of Boas's North American anthropology, this influence continues to be seen to the present, along with the influence of English and, to a lesser extent, French anthropology; However, although it continues to be taught under the canons of Western anthropology theorists, there is no doubt the existence of a current that supports decolonial theories and the rescue of the knowledge and wisdom of the original cultures present in the country , challenging to a certain extent what was established by the university system itself. Currently there are 11 universities where the specialty of Anthropology is taught: one private and 10 public, located mainly in the interior of the country. Under this reality, the objective of the presentation proposal is to make known the way in which anthropology is being built from the southern Peruvian Andes where the National University of the Altiplano Puno is located, and where at least 80% of the students are descendants of the Quechua and Aymara peoples, so it is urgent to make transformations in the field of teaching-learning methodology, the use of the Western episteme and the incorporation of Andean knowledge and knowledge, in addition the importance that the unit has given to the anthropological knowledge after creating a course that is taught in most university professional schools.
