Traditional values ​​absorb all the social experience accumulated by past generations and contain the most important components of the image of a representative of a particular community. It is precisely by whether a person shares these values ​​and builds his life and interactions with other people in accordance with them, the conformity of his attitudes to this society is determined. Anthropologists and ethnologists play an important role in identifying and studying traditional values. Through the study of rituals, morals, religious beliefs, features of everyday life and family life, typical characteristics of ethnic and territorial communities are revealed. Modern states, against the backdrop of accelerated processes of globalization and unification, have begun to pay more attention to identifying such traditional values ​​of their societies and developing measures to preserve them. The importance of such a policy is seen in the need to maintain the value sovereignty of states in order to ensure national security. Youth is a key focus of the state’s attention in this work, since in this way, firstly, it is possible to educate future adult citizens in accordance with certain traditional values, and on the other hand, to ensure a longer-term effect from the policies pursued. Russia has accumulated extensive experience in the policy of indoctrination of young citizens. During the Russian Empire, the leading links in this work were community, church and military institutions. During the Soviet period, at the systemic level, educational and youth (pioneer) organizations were involved in educating young people. In the Russian Federation, various tools are simultaneously used, and the search for the most effective practices is underway. Based on the analysis of official documents and the results of sociological research, we will present an analysis of the implemented policies.
