From the surveys carried out with tourists at the Alto de Los Ídolos Headquarters of the San Agustín Archaeological Park, located in the municipality of San José de Isnos- Colombia, it was possible to estimate how the information about the monuments of the place was understood by visitors, which significantly affects the relationship they establish with the archaeological heritage and thus their posterity. In this way, strategies were created to improve signage, discourse and the way in which the public interacts with archaeological monuments. Likewise, the interviews carried out with the community surrounding the park made it possible to identify important social, political and economic actors to be considered in the creation and management of new ways of understanding the archaeological heritage, through methodologies proposed by public archeology in order to promote its enhancement, conservation and future research.
