Because there was a scientific temperament heightened besides international solidarity accelerating scientific endeavors. The Algerian society is not an exception when it comes to experiencing the impact of Covid surfacing on different sectors of life. The pandemic's impact had been profound, notably in the realm of education, prompting a swift pivot to online learning alongside traditional pedagogical methods. Particularly, the exigencies of the pandemic have spurred a resurgence of interest in anthropology within Algerian academia considering the importance of the discipline and given an overarching impact of it on the themes covering pandemics and precipitations in addressing. So, several works have been completed, including: works by the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology(Algerian migrant families in France and their languages:Practices, representations and transmissions, Society(s) and Pandemic…), the Book of Belehcen “Death and the Making of the Symbolic 2022”…. This paper entitled, ‘Revamping of Anthropological Studies and Research in Algerian Universities Post-COVID-19: A Comparative Analysis’, is situating itself within the framework of (Panel 79) ‘Local Practices and Emerging Traditions of Anthropological Knowledge – Making in Post Covid’, seeks to reflect on the concomitant shifts in knowledge making and the anthropological practices adopted in post Covid. By evaluating the pre-pandemic landscape of anthropological education in Algerian universities and contrasting it with contemporary developments, this paper proposes to delineate the evolving significance of anthropological studies. Through the proliferation of specialized courses and research projects, it looks into the palpable imperative, that emerges, to comprehend post-COVID societal dynamics. Our inquiry not only illuminates the trajectory of anthropology in Algerian academia but also underscores the broader importance of this discipline in discerning societal complexities.
