Abstract:
Chengtoushan Ruins dates back 6500 years and opened as a tourist area in 2015. The cornerstone of Chinese civilisation can be seen through Chengtoushan Ruins. Currently, it experiences low passenger volume, mainly single-day tours, with visitors predominantly from nearby regions. The offerings are limited, and accommodations and dining options are scant. The resources have not benefited the local villagers (the pathway between the scenic area and Chengtoushan village is closed).
Cause: Detachment of tourism promotion from academic support: 'The world’s earliest rice paddies, China’s earliest city and the earliest large altar in the Yangtze River basin' are insufficient to attract tourists widely.
Measures: 'Green Angel' Achievement Transformation Project: 1. Chengtoushan site IP are 'Nvwa Mends the Heavens' and 'Five Stars Rising in the East ceremony', central to which are 'five stones + five pits' linked mysteriously to 'Zhi Le Mountain cultural stones', Sanxingdui cultural stones, and cultural stones held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (unearthed in Israel). 2.Following the Chinese government's study tour policy, using the primary school textbook 'Nvwa Mends the Heavens' as a guide, and gathering 'sky-mending stones' to make cultural and creative crafts as practice, to conduct national-scale educational tourism activities with the declaration of a ‘World Heritage Site’.
This article announces a village cooperative plan: 1. Manual processing of cultural stones; 2. Cultural stone creative workshop; 3. Ethnic folk performance brand; 4. Conversion of idle village houses into campsite guesthouses; 5. 'Li' cultural creative liquor brand; 6. 'Bo' cultural creative food brand, etc.
Requirements: Local government support for project implementation, including 1. Academic seminars; 2. Introduction of supporting policies; 3. Coordination and integration of various resources."
As of April 2024, preparation work has begun, with special invitations extended to Chengtoushan villagers Yanyan Zhao and Lijun Kang, and Silin Chen, a student, to participate.
