Abstract:

Objectives: The aim of this study is to explore and determine the risk factors associated with post-partum health among the new mothers. Materials & Methods: A descriptive qualitative research project was conducted involving a sample of 150 mothers. This study involved structured interviews with all the mothers, along with in-depth case studies focused on those with particularly noteworthy postnatal experiences. This study was conducted in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh state. Results: In the research study conducted, it was found that women in Uttar Pradesh face significant risks related to their emotional well-being and overall social support. Additionally, deficiencies in awareness and education were identified as contributing to these risk factors. Conclusion: New mothers are at an elevated risk of experiencing mental distress, potentially resulting in postpartum depression. Providing comprehensive education to expectant mothers and their families can mitigate anxiety and stress, thereby reducing the likelihood of these issues occurring.
