This article, a result of my doctoral thesis in Dissemination of Knowledge (UFBA), addresses the costumes used by sambadeiras women in samba de roda and its relationship with the bodies that samba in this cultural manifestation. What was in the past the clothing used by women and men in their daily lives or even during communal celebrations, gradually began to constitute an element of identity, which characterizes the groups that practice this cultural manifestation. Samba de roda is a cultural expression, developed and practiced historically in Recôncavo Baiano which involves multiple artistic languages, such as music, dance, literature, and also linked to other elements, including costumes that have relationships with ancestral traditions. Here, I addressed various costumes and props used in contemporary times, bringing the historical context of their use and their configuration in the samba scene, as an element that helps to create an ambience and translates as an extension of the samba body. The qualitative approach research had as theoretical-epistemological contribution of the Ethnocenology. The methodology was participative, collaborative, and included bibliographical research, film records, photographs, interviews, and the coexistence with 20 sambadeira women from 15 locations in the Recôncavo da Bahia. To assist in the historical understanding of the costumes used by sambadeiras and sambadores, I used studies by Braudel (2005), Raul Lody (2015) Barba and Savareze (2012), Pierre Verger (2012). With regard to the understanding of the body that samba, the research by Daniela Amoroso (2009) and Katharina Döring (2012, 2016) was important and, above all, the testimonies of the sambadores and sambadeiras
