Abstract:

This project aims to foster growth by activating and engaging users of Ceibal's platforms, starting by gaining a deep understanding of how teachers use the LMS platform called Crea. The initiative starts by segmenting users into high and low usage categories and assessing user experience perception, which is considered a crucial factor for adoption and engagement. There are: "Heavy Users" (active for 120 or more days in 2023) and "Low Users" (active for at least 20 days in 2023). For Heavy Users, the aim is to assess the perception of value, user experience, typical contexts, and opportunities for improvement. Meanwhile, for Low Users, the focus is on understanding user experience perception, barriers to adoption, journey pain points, and alternative tools. Strategies include demographic and contextual characterization, and then the application of User Experience Research (UXR) techniques. A large-scale survey incorporating instruments like the System Usability Scale (SUS) and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), supplemented by open-ended inquiries, will be conducted. Quantitative Ethnography techniques will be used to analyze these responses. As a last research phase, qualitative studies will delve deeper into survey exploratory findings. This comprehensive approach aims to uncover insights into user perceptions, motivations, challenges, and preferences, enabling the development of targeted interventions to enhance user satisfaction and platform engagement. Tailored strategies for Heavy and Low Users aim to optimize the user experience, fostering greater adoption and retention among teachers on the CREA platform. The rigorous use of research methodologies underscores a commitment to evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement in educational technology deployment.
