Values and ethics guide and direct basic human conduct and are also an essential base for decision making. They are important to build a strong value system and ethical conduct among people for a safe and progressive society. The foundation has to be built from childhood, in which the academics of the student plays a very important role. Basic human nature is nurtured in the adolescent age and the academics of the child have the highest influence. The current research paper focuses on how the academic curriculum in Maharashtra , India plays an essential role in ensuring good conduction in their behaviour and personality through inclusion of profound ethics and values. The emphasis paid by the academics and the style of delivering the importance of values and ethics to the students play a crucial role in its shaping and structuring. But currently, values and ethics are taught to students as a 'Moral Science ' subject which is optional and with less academic credit. Also, due to lack of practicality in the subject content, there exists a lack of interest in students. But with the changes in the education sector, values and ethics have received the due light and received due attention.
