If the basic function of the Editorial collective is to ensure and maintain quality, integrity, and relevance in the production of academic knowledge, I would assume the import of their academic service is to guide the process of thinking critically about a range of social issues, guiding the writing of content with critical sensitivity and thus producing ideas that frame and open-up further discussion. Indeed the role is curatorial and creative. But what happens to this curatorial and creative possibility in the face of structural hurdles that hinder the potential of knowledge creation and dissemination?
