Abstract:
Digital devices and social networks have an increasingly important place in people's daily lives. Specifically, since the COVID-19 pandemic, they were one of the main forms of communication and learning in schools. The research project "Students, schools and rural and indigenous families in digital territories" focuses on the communication interactions of groups that are generated through the social network and WhatsApp in order to accompany and strengthen the school trajectories of the students who attend educational institutions with a rural modality and a bilingual intercultural modality. In this presentation we are interested in discussing the actions that we have been developing in the empirical work of this project, which begins with the recovery and reading of the WhatsApp history of three groups of parental environments corresponding to different schools. Teachers and students also participate in these groups. For this stage, the information was systematized using Excel in order to organize the information according to the date, time, sender and content of the message, including images, stickers, emojis and audios that complement the visual and auditory communication. This structuring and systematization of information required new strategies for carrying out the analysis that we consider important to share.
