Abstract:
The coronavirus pandemic has affected rich and poor people unequally. According to the United Nations (UN), confinement measures reveal social inequalities more clearly. Social inequalities determine the health conditions and economic power of people, which are more acute in indigenous populations. For economically and socially vulnerable families, facing and recovering after a crisis can be a slow and difficult process, sometimes endless and can turn into a real disaster. The place where you live is also a determinant for exposure to greater risks, both natural and anthropogenic, which are decisive for your social development. The results of the work carried out show that there is a high social vulnerability of the Amuzgos of the municipalities of Ometepec, Xochistlahuaca and very high in Tlachistlahuaca due to the coronavirus pandemic, but also due to the pre-existing conditions of poverty and social inequality in the territory. That, vulnerabilities due to exposure and fragility create a real risk condition since the social and economic impacts of the pandemic can lead to a disaster. That the population cannot face and will not be able to overcome this crisis without the intervention of the municipal, state and federal governments, which must generate intercultural strategies and establish an intercultural dialogue with the Amuzgos to take advantage of their strengths, knowledge, knowledge and health practices, as well as how to add other actors such as civil society.
