Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to compare the two concepts—feminism and friendship—and show how they both represent the ideals and philosophies of justice and humanism while also being complementary to one another. The research argues that friendships and feminism are two sides of the same coin, with feminist friendships having more benefits for society is a question of research. On the one hand, Aristotle once said that, "Friendship is justice beyond justice”, on the other hand the feminist movements was aimed to grant all people equal opportunities, regardless of gender which was directly related with the debates of justice. The concepts of feminism and friendship are linked to the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity—all of which speak directly to the justice principle. The paper will be organized into three sections: an introduction to the subject will be covered in the first section, followed by discussions and debates about friendship, feminism, and justice in the second section. This section will address the main research question of the paper, which is: Do feminine traits make someone a better friend? Can it be said that the characteristics of a good friend are comparable to those of a good human being? The concluding remarks will be covered in the third section. The paper will be based on secondary data sources by using various books and articles.
