Abstract:

In the 17th century and earlier, beavers inhabited all suitable landscapes of Siberia, but were almost all exterminated by humans by the end of the 19th century. In the middle of the 20th century, people began to restore the population of this animal in Siberia. The article describes in detail modern approaches to the re-acclimatization of this animal, which involve the introduction of systematic research and hunting work. An important part of the work is the demonstration of methods for the re-population of beavers, using modern technologies and human capabilities of the mid-20th century. The procedure for re-acclimatization of a beaver, from growing and settling in a specific place, to the process of monitoring the animals that have already settled down, is presented as clearly as possible. The results of the study document positive dynamics in the repopulation of beavers and their acclimatization.
