Its beyond any doubt that the considerations of climate chage are urgent to understand urban routine and the daily life of global cities. Deny those facts means empower enviromental negationism that hush up before structural inequalities and consolidated cientific data. The duty os social cience is comprehend the sustain pillars of climate argument, their (dis)continuities and holding the interaction of individuals, the main field of observation. Meanwhile, the challenge that i have posed goes beyond and aims a specific territory that, from my perspective, already produces analysis about problems imposed by climate change, and way before the consolidation of the theme in research and Sate policies agenda: the slums of Rio de Janeiro. IT seems to me that, despite the climate change being a glaring problem of our time, the slums are already reflecting because most of them hold those climate tragedies in the territory´s memory or understand the event as a constituent element since the beggining of last century, as in the case of Rocinha slum. In theoretical and methodological terms, the main challenge is sustein the etnography as a foundamental tool to understand climate change from the point of slums, based on the residents life trajetories and their daily techniques.
