Based on Adivasi examples of sacred knowledge of Mother Earth, the “sacred grove” and the forest, the paper presents Adivasi discourses on sustainability. The paper discusses traditional knowledge of sustainability and biodiversity conservation as embedded in the ritual, the oral and the performative shamanic knowledge of indigenous religions in Adivasi India.
